DESCRIPTION:Lil’ Samurai\n*AGES 5-8* \nDescription: Our Lil’ Samurai program is engineered to introduce young children\, ages 5-8\, to basic Aikido concepts. Classes are taught in a traditional dojo setting. Courtesy\, respect and cooperation are fundamental lessons\, and built into the formal beginning of each class. Children learn a variety of activities and skills\, including stretching and playful warm-ups. \nTime is devoted to learning the fundamental movements of the Ki-Aikido martial arts at a level that is appropriate for small children. We focus on making the class a fun way to get exercise and teach the basic concepts the children will need to know as they grow older. \nA Ki-Aikido art consists of one person attacking and another person performing the Ki-Aikido technique (made up of throws\, re-directions and pins). Because attackers are frequently thrown to the ground\, it is necessary to learn how to fall safely. These skills are taught at the pace small children are able to learn them. DESCRIPTION:Advanced Aikido Test Prep Class\nThis class is invite only and reserved for students who have a test coming up. Students use the time to check off Taigi pre-reqs\, study arts for their upcoming tests and review Ki testing requirements. \nTopics include: \n\nTaigi check-off\nKi Exercises\nHitori Waza\nMartial Art Techniques: Throws\, Joint Locks\, Strikes\, Attacks\, Pins\, Rolling/Falling (Ukemi)\nTraditional Japanese Weapons: Bokken (sword)\, Jo (staff)\, Tanto (knife)\n\nLearn more about Ki Development \nLearn more about Aikido \nAGES: All Ages \nDAY: Tuesday \nTIME: 6:00pm-7:00pm.\nClass begins promptly at 6:00pm \nREGISTER TODAY! \nCONTACT: Email me at wardsensei@westlinnkiaikido.com \nCOURSE FEE: $105 a month for adults. $85 a month for teens. $75 a month for kids under 13. Fees are all inclusive: all tests\, belts annual renewals\, insurance\, and our annual tournament are included. Please make checks out to The Oregon Ki Society\, with “West Linn Dojo” in the memo. There is no limit to the amount of times you can train\, so we encourage all members to train as often as possible. \nWHAT TO WEAR: Aikido Gi (uniform). \nDIRECTIONS: We are located in the lower level of Bolton Plaza.
