Donna Gerten Sensei, Instructor – Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt)
Donna Gerten Sensei, 1st Dan of the Oregon Ki Society, has been training for over 32 years with the Oregon Ki Society. She was originally trained by Dennis Struth Sensei of the Salem Dojo. Gerten Sensei has trained directly under Ki Society founder Koichi Tohei Sensei himself. Gerten Sensei holds a first degree black belt in the martial art of Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido with the Oregon Ki Society. Gerten Sensei also retains a rank of Chuden (2nd degree Black Belt) in Ki Development and is a certified Assistant Ki Lecturer. Gerten Sensei is a graduate of the Ki Society’s Personal Kiatsu School and holds the title of Assistant Instructor of the Kiatsu School. She has trained in Kiatsu and Aikido at the Ki Society’s World headquarters under Koichi Tohei Sensei. She is a direct student of Jon Maxson Sensei (6th degree dan), Robert Hart Sensei (7th degree dan), Louis Sloss Sensei (7th degree dan) and Calvin Tabata Sensei (8th dan). Gerten Sensei has also trained with current Ki Society President Shinichi Tohei Sensei. Additionally she has received a certification in CPR.

Donna Gerten Sensei is a resident of Lake Oswego and married to her husband Alan of 36 years. She has spent her career in database management and web development working for a variety of state & federal agencies specializing in Geographic Information Services.
Donna Gerten Sensei’s goal is to help continue growing the West Linn dojo community while spreading the teachings of Tohei Sensei. She is excited to build our dojo’s Kiatsu program to help improve the quality of life for local residents.
